Gangkou

Gangkou is at the east of Kenting. It is at the mouth of Gangkou River, so if you have a chance, you can do some canoeing here. The village faces the Pacific Ocean, and is rich in coastal resources. Most of the villagers live by the sea. This place is close to Jialeshui and the weather is suitable for surfing! It is because from September to March, there are strong warm winds. However, it also makes it hard to harvest crops, so farmers replant grass in those seasons. There are also Gangkou tea farmers. The tea farm here is the southernmost one in Taiwan. The low altitude tea farm is close to the sea. These two factors make the tea taste bitter at the beginning, but sweet after you finish it. The village is also within the coverage of Kenting National Park. From July to October, it is the peak time of land crabs activities around here.
