Great LP but turned up wrapped in nothing but a plastic bag; unsurpringly corner-dinged.

I had this on vinyl back in the 80's. Loved it then. Still love it. Fond memories of life on the streets of South London. And at a great bargain price.

If there was a 6th star this would get it. All the tracks are brilliant dub versions of the originals. if you have LKJ's other albums, then this is a must for you.

"Belgo Geordie"
4.0 out of 5 stars Not a bad spot of dub from a maestro and muse
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 August 2012
If you like Lynton Kwesi Johnson, Dennis Bovell (Blackbeard) and dub, this is very listenable. Mr Bovell gives the tracks a good working over with his particular brand of dub. More sound/mood scapes for Mr Johnson's fire in the belly polemics. A 1980 release. A Stand out? Mabe "Brain Smashing Dub" or the opening "Victorious Dub". A good cross over and in 2012, it still has a good rumble going.

This is really worth it. Basically 2 vinyl albums in one package, both classic. The sound is on point and the packaging is great; a nice gatefold. Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars An true dub classic , not a tired cliche
Reviewed in the United States on 21 August 2004

LKJ's album "LKJ in Dub" is my number 1 all-time favorite dub album. It is uplifting, with memorable horn arrangements and melodies. Tired of the dubmaster vs. dubmaster cd's that all sound similar? Can't tell one dub song from another? This cd is for you! Yes, the songs on this album share a common style and sound, but it is not the typical echo-chamber/reverb drenched jam sessions. These works are coherent and arranged.

I wish they had added bonus tracks, as the album is relatively short. Perhaps the price should be lower given the short length. If you love dub, don't let this prevent you from getting a copy of this cd! It is said that the best acts play one song too few, not one song too many. This cd is perfect as is. Enjoy and Peace to all.
