This Pokemon TCG Set Will Be Protected From Scalpers
Here’s how the company will stop scalpers in their tracks.
Japan is preparing for the highly anticipated release of what is expected to be this year's most popular Pokémon TCG set. However, to combat scalpers and ensure that players have a fair chance of obtaining the cards, The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokémon Card 151 will be produced on a "made-to-order" basis.
This strategy aims to limit the ability of scalpers to purchase large quantities of the set and resell them at inflated prices, ultimately enabling more players to get their hands on the cards. The Pokémon Company is taking proactive measures to address the issue and ensure a better experience for Pokémon TCG enthusiasts.
Prospective buyers will have the opportunity to purchase packs of Pokémon Card 151 directly from the Pokémon Center in Japan through a reservation system on its website. This method means that even if you miss out on the initial release rush, you will still have a chance to acquire this highly coveted product in the upcoming months.
Orders for Pokémon Card 151 can be submitted from June 15 to June 21. Customers who successfully reserve a box of these cards will have their shipment scheduled for the months following September. The allocation of orders will be determined through a lottery system. In the event that Pokémon Card 151 sells out completely, there will be another reservation period held at a later date, ensuring additional opportunities for interested buyers.
The Pokémon Company has also gone to the extent of cancelling orders for buyers who are suspected of being involved in scalping. The company is also committed to monitoring the resale market to ensure that no scalping takes place.
The Pokémon Card 151 TCG set will be released on June 16.
